How to apply

How to Apply for a Scholarship, Step by Step

Most scholarship applications follow the same path. Get these five steps right and your application is already stronger than most.

  1. 1

Shortlist scholarships you actually qualify for

Check nationality, study level, subject and age rules before anything else. Applying to scholarships you are not eligible for wastes months.

  2. 2

    Check every requirement early

Note the English test, minimum grades, work experience and any required university offer, so nothing surprises you close to the deadline.

  3. 3

    Prepare your documents

Collect your passport, transcripts, degree certificates, CV, English test result or MOI letter, and ask for recommendation letters early.

  4. 4

Write an SOP made for that scholarship

Explain your goals, why this program fits them and what you will do after graduating. Link your answer to what the scholarship wants to achieve.

  5. 5

Submit early and prepare for the next stage

Submit a few days before the deadline, save your confirmation, and start preparing for an interview in case you are shortlisted.

What is a fully funded scholarship?

A fully funded scholarship usually covers your full tuition fees and gives you a monthly living allowance. Many also pay for flights, visa costs and health insurance. The exact benefits change from one scholarship to another, so always check the official list of what is covered.

Can I get a scholarship without IELTS?

Yes, in many cases. Some scholarships and universities accept PTE, the Duolingo English Test or a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter instead of IELTS. Others ask for a specific test, so check the English requirement of both the scholarship and the university you want to join.

What grades do I need to win a scholarship?

It depends on the scholarship. Competitive fully funded programs usually expect strong academic results, but many also look closely at leadership, work experience, community involvement and your statement of purpose. Always check the minimum grade stated in the eligibility rules.

When do scholarship applications open?

Many large government scholarships open between August and February for programs that start the following September. University scholarships often follow the admission deadlines. Start preparing 8 to 12 months before your intended intake so you do not miss a round.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Yes. Applying to several scholarships at the same time is normal and improves your chances. Some programs do not allow you to hold two awards together, so read the rules before you accept an offer.

How can I tell if a scholarship is genuine?

Check that it is listed on the official website of the government, university or organisation offering it. Be careful of anyone asking you to pay a fee to receive a scholarship. Genuine scholarships never guarantee an award in exchange for money.

Does Fly2Campus charge for scholarship updates?

No. The scholarships we share on our WhatsApp channel are free, and your first consultation is free too. We will tell you clearly before any paid service starts.
